Jennifer Lawrence tops Forbes' highest-paid actresses list again
The odds are still in her favour
Forbes has released its annual list of the world's highest paid actresses, and the Hunger Games star has again come out on top, earning a reported US$46 million in the last 12 months. At 26 years old, J-Law is also the youngest person on the list, which sees Ghost Busters star Melissa McCarthy, 45, in second position with US$33 million and Scarlett Johansson in third place with US$25 million.
Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon and Cameron Diaz all dropped off this year's list, while Kristen Wiig, Renee Zellweger and Cate Blanchett only narrowly missed out, with annual earnings that fell just short of the list's US$10million cut off.
In a clear sign that the gender pay gap is alive and well in Hollywood, Lawrence's earnings, although impressive, are only just over half that of last year's highest earning male actor, Robert Downey Jr. In fact, only four actresses earned over US$20 million this year, compared to 18 men. Forbes will release its 2016 highest paid actors list on Thursday.
