According to The Verge, Lionsgate recently announced they'll be opening their first outdoor theme park, Lionsgate Movie World which will be stacked with outdoor movie-themed attractions, rides, 4D streetscapes, performances, merchandise and themed restaurants dedicated to their film properties including The Hunger Games, Twilight, Now You See Me and the highly anticipated 2018 remake of Robin Hood.

Slated to open in 2019, the park will span a very decent 1.3 million square feet and will be located on South Korea's Jeju Island in luxury development, Jeju Shinhwa World. Building their own theme park feels kind of like Lionsgate is starting their own Hunger Games-style grab for supremacy over the established theme park king, Disney, but with almost $7 billion USD in box office ticket sales from their slate of hit films, Lionsgate knows they've got a huge fan base to fill those Twilight-themed roller coaster ride seats.

The theme park will boast seven movie zones so fans can fully immerse themselves in Katniss Everdeen's dystopian world, relive all their favourite vamp and werewolf moments from a little film franchise called Twilight or uncover how they really did all those disappearing acts on Now You See Me.

"We're pleased to partner with our friends at Landing International, one of Asia's premier developers, on our first branded outdoor theme park and one of our largest and most exciting location-based entertainment destinations," said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer and reported in Business Insider.
