How Blake Lively lost her baby weight is surprisingly normal

Blake Lively shared a super buff post on Insta thanking her trainer, Don Saladino for helping her lose 61lbs (approx. 28kg) in baby weight and Saladino reveals how Lively got it done

Blake Lively may not seem like the most relatable celebrity on the planet - the hair, the husband, the face, the acting skills, the lifestyle - but it turns out she's just like the rest of us when it comes to losing weight.

Lively gave birth to her second daughter, Ines, in 2016 and posted on Insta that after 14 months since the birth, she's finally lost the 61lbs (approx. 28kg) she gained during the pregnancy:

The post thanks her trainer, Don Saladino for getting her back into shape and in classic Lively form (Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds are renowned for stellar senses of humour) makes a crack about how surprisingly, weight loss doesn't just happen if you scroll through the 'Gram looking at bikini models. You can't wish that weight away.

In an interview with E! News Lively's trainer Saladino reveals how Lively lost the weight - and it's shockingly normal. Saladino says, "We did not put Blake on any crazy, strict diet... She tries to focus on eating good quality food. If she's eating pasta, it's a good quality pasta." Eating pasta while losing weight is a mantra we can really get behind.

"She tries to avoid process(ed) foods and junk foods. She doesn't drink alcohol. She focuses on things in moderation and doesn't deprive herself of a dessert if she's at a party," Saladino said in the interview.

In terms of training, Saladino told E! News, "We kept training very consistent. We made sure that she was at the gym four to five days a week. Certain days, we worked for an hour, and other days only 20-30 minutes because she's on a tough schedule with her kids... These are very attainable ways to go about doing things." As for the specific type of training, Saladino says, " want to go with resistance training, which is what we did with Blake."

In the interview Saladino also revealed he's been training both Lively and her husband Reynolds for a number of years and they often train together but he has, " separate them a lot in the gym. They are very cute together. They are an amazing husband and wife combo." Sigh...
