With the Super Bowl the most watched television show in the US (2017's was watched by more than 111 million viewers in the US according to statista.com) the halftime performance is one of the biggest entertainment gigs in the world and the list of performers who have taken on that golden role reads like a who's who of A-league entertainment, think: Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson, Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, Missy Elliott to name but a few.

The announcement of who'll headline the halftime entertainment is always hotly anticipated and the whoops could be heard from our sunny shores when the news dropped overnight that multi-talented Justin Timberlake is confirmed for Super Bowl 2018.

However, this isn't Timberlake's first time on the sporty stage. Remember 'Nipplegate'? Back in 2004 Timberlake made his debut on the Super Bowl stage with a very memorable duet of Rock Your Body with Janet Jackson. At the end of the performance Timberlake pulled part of Jackson's clothes off revealing, well, you can guess from the name the scandal was given.

But isn't that the beauty of live TV? The Federal Communications Commission thought not, and according to Billboard, "...implemented a five-second delay during live TV performances thereafter."

Luckily for Timberlake fans the Super Bowl has forgotten all about Nipplegate because he's back. Timberlake and his buddy Jimmy Fallon produced a LOL skit about the announcement which JT shared on Twitter, you can watch it here.

Guess where Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back to?
