After Beyoncé's epic performance at last year's Super Bowl, we didn't think it could be topped. But Lady Gaga has proved why she was picked for this year's 51st Super Bowl purely from her entrance alone.

The Bad Romance singer opened her act by singing a rendition of Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land," which has been a popular song at protesting rallies against President Trump. However Gaga's performance wasn't too heavily political - which came as a bit of surprise for some. After her rendition, Gaga literally plunged off the roof of the stadium in Houston, Texas and suspended herself down to the stage with wires. And this was only the beginning.

In true Gaga style, her thirteen-minute set was a theatrical and entertaining performance of fireworks, back-up dancers, acrobatics and of course, multiple costume changes. She sang a medley of her top hits: 'poker face', 'telephone', 'bad romance' and 'paparazzi'.  And for her finale - a classic mike drop and a catch of a pass before flying out from the stage.

Gaga explained to CBSS sports in a behind-the-scenes video: "I've been planning this since I was 4, so I know exactly what I'm going to do." And it seems celebrities are already praising  her epic performance, taking to Twitter to share:
