It feels as though a third Sex and the City movie have been whispered for years. I mean, it's been eight years since the original Sex and the City movie, and a staggering eighteen years since the very first episode aired on TV ( do you feel old yet?). And although Sarah Jessica Parker and other cast members have been rather allusive about the third film rumours, we may have just been given a slight beacon of hope.
SJP recently sat down with Janey Pauley on CBS to promote her new TV show Divorce. When the actress was asked about SATC she explained that there are "currently no plans" for a trilogy, however, she didn't shut it down completely: "I will say that the idea, it rests in the butler's pantry," she said. "It's not on the table, but somebody is holding it fairly nearby."
Even though SJP is speaking in metaphors (how very Carrie Bradshaw of her) we feel as though "fairly nearby" is the closest inch of optimism we've ever got to a Miranda, Samantha, Charlotte, Carrie reunion. Here's hoping.
