3 things keeping Kim Kardashian in the news today
It's interesting that we won't hear anything from the Kardashian Kamp for months, and then we do -usually around the same time a new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians is about to launch or one of the girls has something exciting in the pipeline, like, say, uh... a makeup line. That, dear internetters, is called Kontrol. Anyway, being the suckers we are, we're still going to report on the latest, so in a nutshell, here's every Kim update you need for the day.
1. Kim and Kanye are reportedly using a surrogate
Celebrity tabloids People and TMZ have reported today that the couple have enlisted a surrogate to carry their next child. Kardashian's health issues have been extensively talked about both in the news and on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and it was revealed that after the birth of Saint, she was diagnosed with placenta accreta, a serious condition where the placenta attaches itself too deeply into the wall of the uterus. This has meant she is seriously advised not have another child.
According to reports, the couple are to pay the mystery woman $59,000 ($US45,000) at a monthly instalment rate of $5900 ($US4500), along with a hefty $90,600 ($US68,850) deposit left with the agency . In the case of twins or multiples, the couple have agreed to pay $6500 ($US5000) per each additional child. The surrogate is banned from drinking, smoking, drugs, hot tubs, saunas, kitty litter, dying her hair, drinking more than one caffeinated beverage per day, raw fish and cannot have sex in the lead up to embryo implantation and in the weeks that follow.
2. Kim was accused of blackface and has set the record straight
Following the announcement of her makeup range, KKW Beauty last week, the reality star has been slammed by the internet peanut gallery for her oddly darker-than-usual skintone in the promotional shots for her contour kit. Numerous fans on all social media platforms have accused her of 'blackface" and deliberately altering her skintone in order to sell more product. So much so that Kardashian has had to speak out to set the record straight. "I used an amazing photographer and a team of people," she told The New York Times." I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it." She added that she obviously had no intention to offend anyone and has taken the feedback on board. "Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos. We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it."
3. KKW Beauty has already sold out
If you did intend on getting your hands on KKW Beauty, and didn't stay up all night, then really, you should have known better. The entire line sold out in three hours, which actually took a lot longer than expected, although the Medium and Light Crème Contour & Highlight Kits were gone in the first half hour. No doubt this is another element of Kardashian Kontrol in action and something the family are pros at: hype.
