2017 will go down in history as the year of Lorde. Following a four year break after her wildly successfully first album Pure Heroine, the New Zealand singer has come back in a big way. This year has seen Lorde's second album Melodrama debut at number one across The United States and Australia. The success of the album's first single 'Green Light' saw the song streamed over 200 million times online. The video for the singer's most recent and equally addictive single 'Perfect Places' was released today, and it's just as perfect as the songs title.

The video sees the New Zealand singer dancing in a forest, floating in a dark oasis and walking on the beach in a red cloaked dress. It begins with the twenty year old walking through a grass field in a capped sleeved vintage dress and an oversized straw boater hat that is already on our shopping list for summer. Sound wise, 'Perfect Places' is the kind of song that equally makes you want to dance around the room, while also bizarrely being the kind of track that makes you want to stop and think about life. Such is the power of Lorde.

Lorde will be touring Australia this November for her Melodrama tour. Tickets have sold out in Sydney and Canberra, but Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane still have a few up for grabs that can be purchased here.

What did we do these past four years without her insightful, pop-y beats? Praise the Lorde she is back. Watch the video for 'Perfect Places' below.
