Splendour in the Grass is over for another year and the world seems a little greyer. You suddenly forget about the half an hour toilet lines, and how long it took you to wash the glitter out of your hair. You find yourself craving a Grill'd burger daily, and every time you hear Client Laison's 'World of Our Love' you get a little ping of sadness that you are not there dancing along with tens of thousands of other people.  While you could sit and mope around until the festival rolls around again next year, there are better ways to fill your time - like attending another festival. Here are five music festivals coming up this year to curb your post-Splendour-blues.

Your Paradise (December 6 -12)

How would you like to wake up on a tropical island, do some yoga on the beach, followed by a cocktail at a floating bar, only to finish the day on a boat partying with some of the highest-class international DJs? This is Your Paradise, a unique festival experience that flies 600 people to Fiji for the ultimate cultural and musical event.

Last year saw Skrillex, LDRU, Anna Lunoe and Thomas Jack perform intimate sets on sand banks, beach and boat parties. This year the line-up features Carmada, Hot Dub Time Machine, Snakehips and Running Touch, with "special guests" to be announced.

The festival also offers a range of activities such as scuba diving, sky diving and surfing trips. It's less a music festival, more an ultimate escape with world class electronic music.  Still not sold? Check out last years after movie here

Limited tickets are still available and can be purchased here.

Festival of the Sun (December 7 - 9)

Set on the North Coast of NSW in Port Macquarie, Festival of The Sun is a smaller scale camping festival that celebrates live music. Year after year, the line-up is stronger than ever - last year headlining Gang of Youths, Seth Sentry, L-Fresh the Lion and Tash Sultana.

The festival takes place in a caravan park, so it has everything from cabins to campsites, and (most notably) proper toilets and showers. Set right on the beach, you can wake up the morning after, have a swim in the ocean and be fresh and ready for the next day.

If you love a festival dress up, you better stock up on your glitter and silver, as this year the festivals' big theme is 'Outer Space'.

Line-up and tickets are set to be announced mid-August.

Beyond the Valley (December 28 - January 1)

Beyond The Valley is a three day camping and music festival set in rural Victoria. Having only operated over the past three years, Beyond the Valley is definitely the 'new kid on the block'. Last year the festival saw live sets from Chance the Rapper, Hudson Mohawke and Sticky Fingers (check out the after movie here) and its fourth year is looking to be big.

If camping is not your thing, Beyond the Valley does glamping like no other. The festival features luxury, fully furnished, hotel style tents in their own private community - say goodbye to leaking air-mattresses.

Line-up and tickets are set to be announced mid-August.

Lost Paradise (December 29 - January 1)

Lost Paradise is a music and cultural festival like no other. Look to your left and you will likely see a man walking on stilts, and to your right you'll see a couple dressed in head-to-toe period fashion. It's the kind of environment where anything goes.

Set over New Year's Eve in Glenworth Valley (just two hours north of Sydney) the festival is incredibly intimate. Last year saw Flight Facilities, Sticky Fingers and Big Scary take the stage, among a host of upcoming local and international talent.

Line-up and tickets are set to be announced mid-August.

Falls Music and Arts Festival (Over New Years, date TBC)

Falls Festival is basically the Splendour of summer.  It takes place over a series of locations in Australia over New Years - Lorne, Marion Bay, Fremantle and Byron Bay (in Byron, it is literally set at the same site as Splendour in the Grass).

If you loved Splendour in the Grass but could not stand the cold, then Falls Festival needs to be put on your list. Being a much bigger festival, the line-up each year is huge. Last year London Grammar, Childish Gambino, and The Avalanches took the stage and this year the line-up promises to be bigger than ever.

Line-up and tickets are set to be announced mid-August.
