Woodshock the first feature film written and directed by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the founders of luxe American label, Rodarte, looks set to be a compelling must-see drama drawing on their intricate, darkly romantic, artistic vision of the world. The Mulleavy sisters founded their label, Rodarte, in Pasadena in 2005. With their Cali-cool-meets-noir-romantics aesthetic the sisters quickly established themselves as firm fashion darlings, winning the prestigious CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award in 2009. Red carpet favourites for envelope pushing A-listers, the label has been worn by leading fashion lights including Natalie Portman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning, Brie Larson and even Michelle Obama. Woodshock isn't the sisters first foray into Hollywood, they designed Natalie Portman's jaw-dropping Black Swan costumes.

Writing and directing a full length haunting, dream-like feature film seems like a natural extension of the Mulleavy's creative talents and who better to lead the flick than Kirsten Dunst? Dunst has played many disturbed characters including star turns in Melancholia, The Virgin Suicides, Crazy/Beautiful, the upcoming Beguiled and nails it every single time. Best friends with the sisters, she is the natural lead for Woodshock, which a press statement describes as "...a hypnotic exploration of isolation, paranoia, and grift that exists in a dream-world all its own." Dunst stars alongside Pilou Asbaek (Game of Thrones) and Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders) in the film from Studio A24 (Moonlight, American Honey). The sisters designed the costumes for the flick - but if the trailer is anything to go by it's not a see-now-buy-now two hour fashion advertisement, Dunst is clad in one white slip dress for the entire trailer.
