We're calling it, 2017 is the year of the thriller. Following the release of Jennifer Lawrence's intensely disturbing film, mother!  (which has been received... well, interestingly by viewers and critics), our other favourite blonde, Blake Lively stars as a blind woman in the upcoming dramatic thriller, All I See Is You. Lively proved that she could go beyond Manhattan's most enviable bombshell, Serena van der Woodsen in last year's box office hit, The Shallows, but this role could perhaps be the stars darkest role yet.

The film looks to be a play with the premise that 'love is blind'. Lively's character Gina, lost her sight in a childhood accident and undergoes an operation to restore it. Gina quite literally see's the world differently; "Did you love me more before?"  She asks her husband in the trailer, to which he responds, "I could ask you the same thing." The promo is backed by an extremely eerie rendition of a Beach Boys classic, sung by a children's choir.

If Gone Girl has taught us anything, it's that the ending of a thriller such as this is sure to have a significant twist. Will the villain be Lively's partner as the trailer so obviously ties to suggest? Probably not.  Thankfully though, we do not have to wait too long to find out. All I See Is You is out in US cinemas on October 27, so should be slated for Aussie screenings shortly after. You can watch the trailer below.
