Three new trailers for some of 2016's biggest films are out - get ready for a supercharged second looks at Suicide Squad, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Captain America: Civil War

Last night's 2016 MTV Movie Awards was full of silliness (such as Alexander Skarsgård presenting an award pantless - not that we're complaining), but it also coincided with the release of some updated trailers and footage for some of the year's most highly anticipated blockbusters. From patriotic superheroes and deranged anti-heroes to antsy as hell wizards, these three flicks have got the worlds of fantasy and action covered (just like the new Game of Thrones trailer, which also dropped recently).

So without further ado, here is another sneak peek of our favourite upcoming releases.

1. Suicide Squad, out August 4
This DC Comics anti-hero tale starring Jared Leto, Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevignge and Viola Davis might be one of the buzziest flicks of the year, thanks to some inventive work in the costume department and some badass acting chops from the leads. The second Suicide Squad trailer (watch the first here) offers a similar insight: a group incarcerated villains are sent on a top-secret government mission to save the world. Played for laughs and thrills, we're predicting big things for this one. Go team.

2. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, out November 17
If magic's more your bag, you'll probably already have this Harry Potter spinoff bookmarked in your iCal. J.K. Rowling's prequel to the beloved series sees wizard Newt Scamander (played by an adorably bumbling Eddie Redmayne) trying to smuggle some dangerous creatures into New York City. Personally, we can't wait to return to the world of muggles and magic.

3. Captain America: Civil War, out April 28
With just over two weeks until the Australian premiere of this comic book caper to go, fans of the Marvel universe could barely contain their excitement when Chris Evans introduced this clip at the MTV Movie Awards. With not much more info to tell you, other than that it's a pretty cool action sequence, we also get to see characters like Elizabeth's Olsen's Scarlet Witch in action. As for the rest? You probably know the Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers/Tony Stark drill from the first two trailers).
