The Ryan Murphy series is the third in his award-winning set (the first was the hugely popular The People v OJ Simpson) and delves deep into the shocking murder of Donatella's famous older brother, Gianni - founder of favourite A-list celebrity fashion label Versace. But in a stranger than fiction move and as recently reported here - singer Lady Gaga was originally rumoured to play Donatella in the series - which made perfect casting sense. They look like they could be real life platinum-blonde sisters and are in fact, firm friends. By contrast Oscar-winner Cruz is known for her lustrous thick, dark locks presenting the makeup and hair department on the show with a serious challenge. No details as to the reason for the cast switch up or even if Lady Gaga had signed on to the show in the first place (we can't imagine she would take recasting quietly) - either way the gripping show is set to be a must-see.
Versace: American Crime Story is set to debut in early 2018 - exact date TBC.
