Actress Michelle Williams will be playing legendary singer Janis Joplin in an upcoming biopic Janis. The new film will focus on the last six months of the 1960s singer's life before her fatal drug overdose, aged just 27 (yep, she's part of that 27 club).
Williams, who is currently promoting her latest film Manchester by the Sea, explained to E! News her excitement for playing the Rock 'N' Roll legend. "I figure there's one good day in the life of an actor, which is when you get the job," Williams confessed. "Before you get the job, you're like, 'Come on! I'm begging. I'm dying for this. I gotta have it!' You get the job and you're like, 'I got it! I'm so excited! I can't believe I'm going to get to do this.' And then you start worrying the next day. I'm in the worrying-the-next-day phase."
While there are scarce details on the Janis project, we do know that Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene) will be directing the film. So for now, whip out your flower crown, put on your favourite Joplin tune and get excited.
