Since the teen vampire franchise folded, the American actress has enjoyed a string of critical successes in films like Clouds of Sils Maria, Still Alice and American Ulta. Fast carving out a new direction for herself as not just an in-demand actress, Chanel ambassador and poster-girl for sexual fluidity - K Stew is now hitting her stride as a director.
After collaborating with girlfriend St Vincent on her debut short film Come Swim, which premieres at Sundance, Kirsten told The Hollywood Reporter about her next project. "My next thing is going to kick ass. It's about gun control," she said. And in a (kind of) related aside, she touched on everyone's favourite topic at the moment: US politics. "You don't have to be a politically involved person to be uber-aware of the fact that very basic humanitarian ideas are being so incredibly trampled on," she added.
In a similar themed Variety interview, Kristen addressed the fears young women have surrounding Trump's presidency. "I've never been the most politically charged person, but at this point, it's not political, it's f**king so humanitarian," she answered. Later, she addressed the hilariously odd series of tweets that Trump made about her cheating scandal with ex Robert Pattinson.
"He was mad at me a couple years ago! He was really obsessed with me a couple years ago, which was f**king crazy, like what? I can't even understand it," she said, shaking her head. Girl, we hear you...
