In classic Apple style, the tech giant's first foray into original TV programming has produced a knockout piece of much-see viewing combining everything they're good at like tech, apps, uncovering super talented people, with the power of Hollywood celebrity. They've also thrown in a competitive element which, let's face it, drives the tech industry to develop better, cooler, more advanced gadgetry at a supersonic pace.

Apple screened the first episode at their Worldwide Developers Conference (where they also launched the HomePod and unveiled iOS 11) earlier this week to the crowd of Apple disciples before releasing the first episode online (available now on Apple Music and iTunes). Planet of the Apps is hosted by DJ Zane Lowe and features celebrities Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, will.i.am and serial entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk mentoring app creators as they prepare to pitch a Silicon Valley venture capital firm for funding. As a neat tie-in the apps featured in each episode will be available for download in the App Store.

Apple is never one to do things by halves, they're also launching James Corden's incredibly popular Carpool Karaoke segment from his talk show, The Late Late Show, as a stand-alone series later this year.
