Yes Netflix yes! The streamer can do no wrong delivering amazing, fresh binge-worthy content plus all our fave movies and regular TV series and now they're bringing talk show trailblazer David Letterman back to our screens.

Legendary Letterman hosted the Late Show for over two glorious, high-rating decades punctuating every show with clever comedy, top ten lists and all the best celebrity interviews. For up-and-coming actors and actresses and established Hollywood veterans a seat at Letterman's desk was the ultimate 'you've made it' tick of entertainment industry approval. Tears were shed (by viewers, Letterman seemed ready to say farewell) when Letterman retired in 2015 and handed the Late Show reins over to Stephen Colbert  - we all thought it was an end of era.

So thank the entertainment gods for Netflix. Bringing our favourite talk show host and comedian out of retirement is completely brilliant work by the streamer and we can't wait to see him back on the small screen.  According to USA Today Letterman is, "...prepping an as-yet-untitled, six-episode series for Netflix that will premiere in 2018."

The new show won't be the same/same Late Show format we're used to with a slew of high profile guests and top 10 lists but will have a refreshed format of Letterman interviewing just one guest with additional field pieces rounding out each episode. His guest interview wish list includes Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump according to Vanity Fair.

USA Today reports that in classic comedic form Letterman said, "I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix. Here's what I have learned: If you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first."

Guess who’s coming back to the small screen?
