Game of Thrones season 7 is well upon us, and even though we're only two episodes deep, we already have all the questions: What will happen to Arya? Will Jon Snow and Daenerys join forces? What else can Cersei do to completely blow our minds?

One of the biggest parts about being a Game of Thrones fan is guessing what is in store for the city of Westeros, and the stakes are even higher now that the TV series has advanced well beyond the books by George R.R. Martin.

However, over the weekend Martin delivered some very promising news on the book front. In a post on his LiveJournal, commenting on speculation about 'The Winds of Winter' and 'Fire and Blood' Martin wrote: "I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018... and who knows, maybe two."

'The Winds of Winter' is the next instalment to the Game of Thrones series, and 'Fire and Blood' is a detailed lineage and history of House Targaryen, dating prior to Mother of Dragons, Daenerys.

While Martin does not have the best track record for keeping up with deadlines, we'll take whatever positive Game of Thrones news we can get. 'Winter' is well and truly coming... you just have to wait until 2018.

Good news for Game of Thrones fans
