Get ready to hear and see our Queen roar and sing, with Disney confirming Beyoncé Knowles-Carter will play Nala in their 2019 live-action remake of everyone's favourite childhood movie The Lion King.

Beyoncé  joins an all-star cast including Atlanta's Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa (a role he voiced so memorably in the 1994 original), Brit comedian and host of Last Week Tonight John Oliver as Zazu, Seth Rogan as Pumbaa, Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari.

The remake will be directed by seasoned filmmaker Jon Favreau who also directed and produced Disney's 2016 live-action remake of The Jungle Book. "It is a directors dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life," Favreau said in a statement to Variety.

Slated for a July 2019 cinema release date, the music score is being created by Hans Zimmer - who did the original 1994 movie score - ergo we're expecting to really 'feel the love tonight' with the soundtrack dream team of Zimmer on score and Beyoncé singing the tunes.
