Hot on the heels of the announcement that Oscar-winner Meryl Streep is set to join the cast of Big Little Lies Season 2 - which already has a blinding amount of star powder (Reese, Nicole) -  comes confirmation that three of the key Season 1 stars are also returning to Monterey, California for Season 2.

Variety reports Zoë Kravitz who plays Bonnie Carlson, a yoga teacher hiding a ton of demons from her past, will return along with Laura Dern playing feisty corporate mum Renata Klein and Shailene Woodley is also coming back for round two in the role of single mum Jane Chapman.

The first season of the hit HBO drama was based on the novel of the same name by Aussie author Liane Moriarty - but with no second novel, the storyline will be all brand new. However, fans can expect a similar sizzling level of intrigue and drama from the show with David E. Kelley who wrote and exec produced Season 1 - back in the writing and executive producing chairs for Season 2.

Per Variety the Monterey mums confirmed to return (Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman confirmed their S2 role reprisals previously) are trying to deal with life after the death of abusive villain Perry Wright (played by Alexander Skarsgård).  Jane (Woodley) is "trying to build a new life for herself and Ziggy," (her show son played by Iain Armitage), "Renata (Dern) ...is faced with new challenges in her marriage,"  and "Bonnie (Kravitz) ...is forced to face demons in her past."

As for when it'll be on our screens - no confirmed date yet but HBO is rumoured to be eyeing a late 2018 premiere date for the seven-episode Season 2.
