Last night, Sydney's biggest celebs and fashion insiders took to David Jones's Level 3 for the A/W '16 fashion launch. Local celebs like Elizabeth Debicki, Asher Keddie, Isabella Manfredi, Kate Waterhouse, David Jones ambassador Adam Goodes and Lindy Klim joined designers such as Christopher Esber, Camilla and Marc and Romance Was Born designers Anna Plunkett and Luke Sales to watch the show. The runway boasted David Jones ambassadors Jessica Gomes, Montana Cox, Jesinta Campbell, Jason Dundas, plus Ruby Jean Wilson and Catherine McNeil.

Here, we give you the five most talked-about moments from the show:

1. Jess Gomes's braid

With her hair pulled back into a fierce braid, Jess Gomes' look was the standout beauty moment of the night. Strong and warrior woman-esque, the up 'do highlighted Jess' amazing cheekbones and caused her to stand out from the pack - not an easy feat on a runway filled with dancers!

2. The David Bowie tribute

Two David Bowie songs featured in the fashion launch - 'Love Is Lost' opened the show, while 'Life On Mars' was the second-last song played (as Romance Was Born pieces were showcased).

3. Girls will be boys... and vice versa

In an ode to the androgynous dressing that has permeated the last few seasons of international runway shows, male and female models were sent down the runway in gender-neutral suits. Bespectacled Aussie model Ruby Jean Wilson sported a cool Ted Baker tuxedo suit, while a long-haired male model brought a geek-chic vibe to a classic suit and tie combination.

4. The Sydney Dance Company collab

In partnership with the Sydney Dance Company, this season's theme #itsinyou brought live contemporary dancers to the moving stage and runway. Clad in new season pieces from David Jones' stable of local and international designers, the dancers brought a sense of raw, dynamic beauty to the show.

5. Catherine McNeil's return to Australian catwalks

When one of our most successful modelling exports makes a return to the local catwalk, it causes a splash. With her long limbs and feline beauty, Cat McNeil cut a striking presence on the David Jones runway (we'd happily take her cheekbones any day...)
