Proving age has no bearing on cool factor, 60-year-old Whoopi Goldberg has announced she has founded a new company, Maya & Whoopi, which will sell medical-marijuana products for period pain. Cue a chorus of 'Oh, happy day' from women everywhere.
Her inaugural line will include cannabis edibles, tinctures, topical rubs, and a THC-infused bath soak - but they're not designed to get users high. "For me, I feel like if you don't want to get high, this is a product specifically just to get rid of discomfort. Smoking a joint is fine, but most people can't smoke a joint and go to work," Goldberg told Vanity Fair.
The star is working with Maya Elisabeth, a big name in the 'canna-business' (geddit?) industry for the brand, which hits the shelves this April - but only in California. She's not the first celebrity to start selling weed - Rihanna beat her to it when she launched MaRihanna in November last year.
