Status update: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make it official
Let's get this out of the way, Prince Harry is a total catch. With the upcoming birth of his brother's third child pushing him back to sixth in line to the throne, he's unlikely to get the title role - which is actually brilliant, Prince H gets all the fun that goes with being a royal like immense wealth, a palace or five to choose from and the cachet of being in the royal family - but none of the responsibility of being the sovereign ruler of a huge number of people and large tracts of land.
He's got the keys to kingdom without all the admin that goes with it. So who this fun-loving Prince chooses to accompany him in his royally good life is what fairy tale legends are made of - in fact whenever he's single Prince H sightings cause wannabe princesses to go into social media meltdown.
When rumours started circulating last year that Prince Harry was secretly dating stunning US actress Meghan Markle from hit legal show Suits the sound of hearts breaking could be heard all over the globe. And sorry ladies, they've now made it official. There's no engagement ring yet, but for the first time the couple have been photographed together - with their permission (plenty of grainy unauthorised snaps have been taken of the two together) - which is as official as it gets for a royal relationship.
Prince Harry 33 and Markle 36 were photographed all loved up on the sidelines of the Invictus Games in Toronto. Which seems a fitting, inspired place to 'officially' announced their status update - the Invictus Games are, according to the Games website, an international sporting event created by the flame-haired Prince for wounded, ill and injured servicemen and women, both currently serving and veterans to inspire, "...recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding of and respect for those who serve their country."
