The world's most prestigious design fair, the annual Salone del Mobile in Milan, has kicked off for 2015

One of the standouts so far is the luminescent COS installation at Spazio Erbe, a collaboration with New York design firm Snarkitecture. Thousands of strips of white fabric are suspended from the ceiling at varying lengths, transforming the space into an other-worldly cave.

The installation is inspired by the lightness and luminous quality of the COS S/S '15 collection, with visitors encouraged to feel their way through and allow the fabric strips to billow around them.

Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen of Snarkitecture explain: "After meeting with Karin and Martin and looking at the new COS collection, we knew we wanted to create a revelatory experience that played with shifting views and translucency through the use of luminous material. What we came up with is an immersive environment that draws on the familiar qualities of fabric and the primal nature of caverns to create a world of reflection, exploration and interaction."
