

Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay’s teenage daughter killed in shooting

15-year-old Trinity Gay, the daughter of Tyson Gay, has been fatally killed during a shooting in Lexington, Kentucky. According to police authorities, the shooting occurred around 4am in a carpark of a nearby restaurant, where a group of men in two cars opened fire with each other. Trinity Gay was reportedly shot in the neck during the gunfire exchange.
USA Track & Field official tweeted their condolences: "Sending our thoughts & prayers to (at) TysonLGay & his loved ones as they mourn the tragic & senseless loss of his daughter, Trinity." Tyson Gay has represented the US in the last three summer Olympics, and is the second fastest man to run 100-metre spring in history. Just like her champion father, Trinity was fast becoming a rising star on the field, and was a sprinter on her high school's track team.
Julian Tackett, Kentucky High School's Athletic Association Commissioner, has also tweeted about Trinitiy's death: "Shocked to hear of death of Trinity Gay. A life of such potential cut so tragically short. Sympathies to Tyson and entire family."
