Must have: Beyonce just dropped a $300 coffee table book
Get in formation
When it comes to fan armies, there's no denying that Beyoncé's Beyhive is one of the most passion-fuelled out there. They'll go after anyone who speaks out against the queen of pop with great fury, pay thousands of dollars for front row seats to her shows and drink up anything the singer serves. So it was only a matter of time before Bey dropped something special, especially made for the die-hards (besides paying for their college tuition, that is).
Well, Beyoncé fans will soon be able to get their hands on a $300USD Lemonade box set entitled "How To Make Lemonade". Of course, this is not just any box set. It is a made-to-order, special edition item consisting of a huge 600-page coffee table book that features "hundreds of never-before-seen photos from the making of Lemonade" and personal writings by Bey scattered throughout, putting a lot of the nuances of Lemonade into context.
It also has a forward penned by Georgetown University sociology professorDr Michael Eric Dyson and poetry by Kenyan-born, British poet and Brunel University's African Poetry Prize-winner Warsan Shire. Shire's words were used throughout the Lemonade films and though her name might not be known by many, this line from her poem "Home", "No one leaves home unless/home is the mouth of a shark", has become quite famous among human rights activists.
In addition to the book, the box set also features video downloads and a first double-disk vinyl pressing of Lemonade (in a lemon-coloured vinyl, of course), which will also soon be available to purchase separately.
