While other celebrities are busy launching nail polish collections, weird adventure apps or their own brand of vitamin water, the cool girl at the back of the bus, Rihanna, has announced she will be dropping her own line of cannabis next year. And it's slated to be called MaRihanna.
Making the announcement at the annual High Times Cannabis Cup in Jamaica over the weekend (where else?!), RiRi, who already rocks a fairly packed side-hustle portfolio of fragrances, a sock collab, a soon-to-launch beauty agency called Fr8me, a Dior campaign, an upcoming film and her role as creative director of Puma, said she plans to enter the growing commercial market of branded kush next year. "MaRihanna by Rihanna is truly the first mainstream cannabis brand in the world and proud to be a pioneer," she reportedly said. "MaRihanna is blazing, a trail for the industry." This statement has been echoed by industry experts, who are noting that Rihanna's sheer influence on, well, everything, from front row fashion to beauty, all the way through to NBA game scores.

Following in the footsteps of Snoop Dogg's Leafs by Snoop and Willie Nelson's Willie Weed, MaRihanna is slated to hit Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska, where recreational cannabis use is legal, and will offer three strains, Karribean Kush, Haitian Haze, and Jamaican High Grade.
While Rihanna herself is yet to publicly confirm the news, she's made no secret of her long time love of the herb, both as an advocate of the decriminalisation and legalisation of cannabis with the hashtag #legaliseit and by posting 420 selfies on her Instagram account.
