In the dating world, you know it's a good sign when you share a mutual interest. But mutually disliking the same thing? That's soulmate-worthy. And it seems dating apps have finally clued on.
Aptly named Hater, is the latest dating app that's designed to link people that have a similar loathing towards something. CEO Brendan Alpher, who's a former comedic writer, explains how the idea was initially thought of for a sketch. "The more I thought about it, the more I thought 'Hey even though this was a funny idea, it actually makes a lot of sense,'" Alper tells The Cut.
Similar to its Tinder/Grinder competitors, Hater has a swipe-based design but instead of based solely on looks; Hater delves into personal interests. With over 2000 topics, you simply swipe up for love, right for like, left for dislike and down for hate. According to The Cut, some of the topics you may come across are controversial pop-culture issues like Donald Trump, camping, gluten-free and Taylor Swift.
The app officially launches February 8 - happy swiping.
