Coco Republic's new cafe references the Italian riviera
La dolce vita
Coco Republic's flagship Alexandria store now has an espresso bar attached. L'Americano is a tempting blend of Italian and American design, inspired by the 1955 novel, The Talented Mr Ripley.
No expense was spared for the interior fit-out, which channels the old world charm of a 1950s espresso bar nestled on the banks of the Riviera. Coco Republic commissioned 30 mahogany Chris Craft Italian Riva Boats to line the interior walls; petite high-powered leisure boats easily identified by antique watercraft enthusiasts.
L’Americano’s Executive Chef Alex Kearns, who hails from the always delicious Glebe Point Diner, has created a breakfast and lunch menu with a classic yet contemporary focus. The menu is a smorgasbord of relaxed, flavourful Italian fare, with a Crostini Bar and Salad Bar offering fresh ingredients including pancetta, figs, burrata and kingfish together with organic breads.
If you're in the mood to celebrate after securing that leather chesterfield you've had your eye on, or nabbing a Ralph Lauren bar stool on sale, you're in luck: L'Americano also serves prosecco, campari and cocktails. Visit lamericano.com.au.
