Madame Tussauds, eat your heart out - we think your version of Karl Lagerfeld, forever immortalised in wax, has just been trumped. By a candle. Because 'Candle Karl', as it's so perfectly named, gives a whole new meaning to the notion of a designer candle - not only was it designed by Lagerfeld, but the resemblance is uncanny.

From the formidable 82-year-old's iconic black shades to his stiffly starched poplin collar, the candle has it all - right down to his signature shiny black button (they stopped short of applying little arms and hands for his fingerless gloves though). Lagerfeld drew up a sketch of the design before handing it over to perfumer John-Paul Welton to concoct the fragrance - a heady mix of cinnamon (Lagerfeld's favourite spice), mandarin, pink peppercorn, jasmine, cardamom, tobacco, nutmeg and amber.

Housed in a white lacquered glass vessel with a biscuit porcelain base, the candle is every bit as luxurious as you'd expect from anything with King Karl's stamp. Only 300 candles have been produced, with each retailing for £240 (that's just under $500 a pop). Keen to keep Karl on your mantelpiece? Head to
