Melbourne is getting a prickly injection of cacti for a two-day Cactus Carnival, aiming to transform Melbourne Central into its very own desert landscape. The carnival will feature a host of cactus-inspired pop-ups from local retailers including market stalls and food stands. The Cactus Carnival also aptly coincides with the opening weekend of desert-based music festival, Coachella, and will host an oasis of indie music and margaritas care of Tommy's Margarita Bar.

The festival will of course feature wall-to-wall succulents courtesy of Cactus Country, for all of us millennials who want a bit of greenery in our lives, but can't handle the maintenance that comes with non-desert plants. Make sure you have your phone handy, because something tells us there will be plenty of 'Gram worthy moments.

Friday April 12 - Saturday April 13, 2018
211 La Trobe Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
