My biggest diet and fitness tip when it comes to getting bikini ready is listening to your body. I try to take note of how food makes me feel, what gives me energy and what makes me tired. Our bodies are all different, so I think doing what feels right for your body is most important.
I try to eat as clean as possible. I like to eat raw, organic food and I try to cook as often as I can, which can be difficult when I'm traveling all over the world for contests. But I do feel healthier when I'm making my own meals - and my digestive system loves me for it!
I start my morning with lemon juice in warm water - it always makes me feel like I'm helping my body to be clean and purified, particularly after I've been on long international flights. It helps me to reset and get back into a good routine. I love starting my morning with a cold-pressed juice or smoothie. Getting all of my nutrients and putting fresh greens into my body in one delicious smoothie sets me up to feel energised for the rest of the day.
I love muesli after my juice or smoothie. I try to find a low sugar mix and I'll sometimes create my own by blending different grains and oats with dried fruit and nuts. For lunch and dinner I eat lots of vegies and I always include some protein - just a palm-sized portion of meat is all my body needs to notice a big difference in my energy levels. Turmeric is my favourite for anti-inflammatory. When I'm home in Australia I love the Turmeric Tea from Orchard Street.
MOVE! Whether it's just walking, riding, stretching, surfing or dancing - doing something little every day makes me feel so much better, physically and mentally. I'm obsessed with Pilates - it's such a great core workout. My strength and my body shape changed when I started practicing Pilates.
Interval training is my favourite way to exercise for a quick, hard workout that gets me sweating! My trainer has created different programs for me, so that I have a routine for wherever I am in the world - even in my hotel room.
