Boats, bottomless brunches and back yard parties: we have your Australia Day long weekend sorted!

Cold booze, good beats and great company; it doesn't take much to guarantee an absolute pearla of an Australia Day. Whether you're in the mood for a bellini-filled brunch, or keen to get down to some dirty-bass beats, Sydney is buzzing with options to sink a tinnie or two at. And when Australia Day just so happens to fall on a Friday, we're lucky enough to skip the next-day work hangover and continue the party into the weekend. It should also be noted that Australia Day has long been a source of contention due to the impact it has on our indigenous community. The day is often referred to as 'Invasion Day' or 'The Day of Mourning' so remain mindful come Friday. This year the debate was brought to the forefront with triple j announcing they have moved their Hottest 100 music countdown from January 26, to January 27 out of respect to our Indigenous community. (Going forward the countdown will fall on the fourth weekend in January).
