As the seasonal calendar moves into spring, a swift change occurs in the drinking habits of young people. Like bears coming out of hibernation, we start to emerge from underground bars and cellar-style restaurants, leaving red wines and craft beers behind in search of fresh summer cocktails and rooftop soiree's. The guys at The East Village know this - when else can you enjoy an obnoxiously garnished tropical style beverage in the sun? -and have transformed their rooftop terrace into a Tiki-style bar for the glorious summer months.

Visitors will be greeted by inflatable lobsters, palms, neon-lights and lush tropical ferns as they sip on bespoke cocktails from a redesigned Tiki menu. New cocktails include the Jungle Boogie, Banana Colada (complete with a banana dolphin) and Rye Tai. Tropical food specials have been designed by head chef Richard Pattenden including spicy jerk chicken boa with pineapple ketchup and coriander; and burrata with grilled mango and papaya salsa, basil oil.

The Tiki bar pop-up is open now and will run for two months in total at East Village Sydney: 234 Palmer Street, Darlinghurst.
