On the menu now until the end of truffle season, this is the kind of decadent comfort food you haven't tasted since Rockpool's mac 'n' cheese. But it's winter, and it's cold, and it's Manjimup, WA truffles, so the calories are justified.
Especially when they're in the form of Devon Café's Ultimate Toastie: fried eggs, sautéed mushrooms, garlic parsley, tuffle oil and gruyere cheese melted onto sourdough with shaved black truffle. Or their Super Fries - topped with melted gruyere, garlic cheese sauce and truffle. Over at sister café Devon on Danks, the fare is equally indulgent, from the J.E.T - that's Jamon serrano, egg, truffle and gruyere gougere - to the Truffle French toast - brioche with truffle honey jelly, truffle and vanilla cream, ricotta, crème fraiche, truffle ice-cream and shaved black truffle. Intense? Yes. Delicious? Sounds like it.
