iPhones at the ready - soon, The Grounds of Alexandria will be operating out of a shiny new location, smack bang in the middle of Sydney's CBD. It's slated to open its no-filter-needed new digs by late 2015/early 2016, in the former Mecca site in the Galeries Victoria on George Street (beauty buffs, don't fret: Mecca have moved across the road to the QVB).

Design powerhouse ACME & Co., who worked on The Grounds take one, have come on board to design the city site - but there's no word yet on whether Kevin Bacon and friends will be relocating. Unlike the sprawling Alexandria acreage, with its alfresco dining, vegetable gardens, florist and petting zoo, the CBD location will have a look more in line with its urban setting, The Grounds co-director Ramzey Choker told Good Food. "We want to create memorable experiences. So it's about how can we do that in a corporate city environment," he says. One thing's for sure: George Street is about to get even busier.
