No trip to Seminyak is complete without stopping by Kultur, a casual family-owned cafe with the most delicious Indonesian food. Despite their rave reviews on Tripadvisor, the restaurant remains a hidden gem as they don't advertise and are not very fancy - just great food and great service!
Jalan Pangkung Sari 30, Seminyak, Bali,

$: Bumbu

My go-to spot for a special occasion, Bambu has the best atmosphere in Seminyak. You walk in on a floating bridge over a koi pond and sit in a tranquil pavilion surrounded by lovely pools. The chef has an eye for presentation and the dishes are distinctively Indonesian despite the upscale setting.
Jalan Pratama, Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua, Bali,

$$: Métis

I always go here for my birthday dinner in Bali and am never disappointed. The seating overlooks gorgeous rice paddies, or you can book the private cellar for groups where you are surrounded by wine-lined walls. The French cuisine is divine!
Jalan Petitenget no.6 Kerobokan Kelod, Kuta,

$$: Shiro Sushi / Sake at One Eleven

The best sushi bar in Bali, Shiro Sushi at One Eleven is 'Japanese fine dining' with a fab selection of sake and a minimalist chic setting. The restaurant is headed by the legendary Chef Shiro San, a longtime Bali resident from Japan, so you know the quality is top-notch. Book in advance because tables are limited!
