Are you off carbs this month? Soz, but you might want to turn away now. This is going to hurt. After relaunching Surry Hills staple The Dolphin last year, restaurateur Maurice Terzini and head chef Monty Koludrovic are here to revitalise your flagging weekday lunch spirits by launching a mid-week sandwich menu. Nicknamed 'Proper Sandwiches' the menu will feature five sandwich options a day, rotated so you don't get bored.

The Dolphin is making weekday lunch fun again

Using ingredients like smoked meat from LP's Meats, flour from Chippendale's Brickfields Bakery and deli treats from Victor Churchill's, the humble sanger has been given a majorly gourmet makeover. With drool-worthy fillings like The Italian Job (LP's mortadella, salami, asiago cheese, rocket, aioli), Parmarama (baked eggplant parmagiana, ricotta and rocket) and O.D.B 'BLAAAT' (double rasher bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato, guandillas) we can see these delicious morsels walking out the door with the Surry Hills lunch crowd come 12pm. FYI, it's first in, best dressed.
