Between the epic flatbreads, the wine list, lamb that will rock your world and the fact it was recently named Hotel Restaurant of the year at the prestigious industry event, 2016 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence, it's not like we needed another reason to dine at Sydney's Kensington Street Social, but alas. There is.
Head Chef, Rob Daniels has just dropped some fantastic new additions to the already impressive menu for spring - including a dish with that epic aforementioned lamb. The new menu items include a smoked and crumbed hen's egg yolk with fioretto, young green garlic; hand-chopped pasture-fed beef tartare with beetroot jam, oyster emulsion and toasted rye crumb; spanner crap claw meat rissoni pasta with avocado, roast macadamia and blood lime and lamb rump with Jerusalem artichoke puree, borlotti ragout, broadbeans and pea tendrils. There's also a warm chocolate mousse with spiced rum, chestnut cream and fresh, marinated blueberries and a milk crisp for those with a sweet tooth.
If you haven't yet checked out the cool, high-ceilinged, concrete and metallic-adorned space, then, simply going off the menu that is currently on offer, spring is the season to do so. Tip: Get the lamb.
