Restaurants, diners and bars often form a huge part of the identity of TV shows like the diner in Seinfeld, the bar in Cheers, the Peach Pit in Beverly Hills 90210 or Home and Away's Pier Diner. So many key scenes take place over a meal, at a take-out counter or at the bar, and for fans getting the chance to visit or even eat at their fave characters diner is a rite of pop culture passage.  So the news that the famous fictional chicken shop in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul is popping up in Sydney next week will be greeted with cheers by fans of these cult shows.

On Tuesday April 11 and Wednesday April 12, Thirsty Bird in Potts Point will play host to a Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up and the 'owner' of the fictional chicken shop in the show, Gus Fring (played by Giancarlo Esposito) will be on hand to make the experience next level authentic. Thirsty Bird, the restaurant hosting the pop-up, will provide free meals of two pieces of Southern fried chicken, curly fries, sauce and a drink, just like on TV. The pop-up has already appeared in New York, Los Angeles and Austin with various characters dropping in to add to the experience.

Stan, streamer of Better Call Saul, is also organising a meet and greet with the actor for 25 lucky fans - head to their Facebook event page for all the details.

Thirsty Bird is located at shop 3, 2-14 Bayswater Rd, Potts Point. The Los Pollos Hermanos pop-up will be there April 11 and 12, more details here.
