Sake regularly tops lists of the best Japanese in Sydney (in fact, it made our top five); Veuve Clicquot needs no introduction. Put them together and what do you get? An indulgent night out designed for champagne lovers (who, us?) and sushi fiends alike.
Saké Double Bay has partnered with Veuve on the five-course affair, which is taking place for one night only on July 7. Veuve's fine wine specialist MJ van Vuuren will play host, educating guests on champagne history and providing expert advice on food and wine pairings (and regularly topping up your glass, we assume).
We hate to spoil it, but the menu looks next-level delicious - wagyu oyster blade with shitake, sesame soy and samphire, paired with a VCP 2008 Vintage Rose, and Fuji apple tart soufflé with buckwheat ice-cream and salted caramel, paired with a VCP NV Rich with grapefruit peel (ICYMI: champagne garnishes are a thing now).
