Contemporary Nippon noshery, Saké Restaurant and Bar is the go-to for sushi and sashimi lovers around the big city lights of Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Their tightly edited, flavour-packed, authentic take on traditional Japanese cuisine served in chic, mod spaces translates to one of the best eastern eating empires Down Under. It really has a lot going for it; but one of their standout features is turning a traditional Japanese cultural icon, like the cherry blossom, into a delicious in-season must-eat menu.
From now until October 19, Saké is offering set spring menu pairings centered around a limited-edition gin-based cherry blossom cocktail, aptly named the Good Time Geisha. Each Saké venue will host their own signature dish set menu such as the $95pp five-course at chi-chi Saké Double Bay which includes ladies-who-lunch slim line faves tuna ceviche, chilled spanner crab salad and drool-worthy cherry blossom kastera (Japanese sponge cake), or the city slicker lunch crowd's $110 seven-course at The Rocks which hits lunch hard via their steamed prawn dumplings, pan seared glacier 51 fish and cherry blossom mocha to close out the deal.
