Name a sound more satisfying than the 'pop' of a cork followed by the hissing fizz of prosecco as it is poured into a glass on a hot summers' day - impossible.  The Italian sparkling wine living its best life right now, trumping its predecessor rosé as the Sunday sesh drink of choice for ladies-who-lunch. Served with Aperol, Campari or as is; we'll take a tall glass of prosecco in any form, thanks - and that reason alone is cause for celebration. Prosecco festivals have been popping up (pardon the pun) all over Europe of late, and finally the land down under is being graced with our very own celebration of the bubbly drink, coming to Melbourne on February 25. Think of all the candid/not really candid photos and boomerangs you can post to Instagram!

The Prosecco Festival showcases some of the best prosecco's from Italy and Australia, offering free tastings, wine and cheese pairings and a chance to meet some true wine heroes (growers, winemakers and importers). The event will fold out in two four-hour sessions over the day (11:00am - 3:00pm and 4:00pm - 8:00pm). The event is brought to you by wine enthusiast (and prosecco specialist) Melissa Brauer and will also offer goodie bags, delicious Italian food and bespoke music.

The Prosecco Festival is an 18 + event, so mums (& dads) find a babysitter because you have a date with a very tall glass of bubbles.
