We did it Australia, same-sex marriage is FINALLY legal under Australian law, and after four years of campaigning for marriage equality in Australia, the ice cream connoisseurs at Ben & Jerry's have good reason to celebrate. Tonight (Monday, December 11) to commemorate the legalisation of same-sex marriage, Ben & Jerry's are hosting a Free Cone Night - because its common law that free ice cream tastes distinctively better than ice cream you would have otherwise had to pay for.

The celebration ties-off four years of the brands' dedicated campaigning for marriage equality in Australia, which began in 2013 with a 'Say I Dough' initiative. The ice cream maker also created its own postal system across its stores for customers to directly contact their local MPs and encourage them to fight for marriage equality. This year, Ben & Jerry's invoked a ban on the sale of two scoops of the same ice cream flavours in support of the same-sex marriage.  Now that all marriages are equal under Australian law, this ban has also been lifted.

The free ice cream comes will be available at the below Ben & Jerry's locations between 5:30pm - 9:30pm tonight (Monday, December 11).
