Royal-fans rejoice, if you're currently residing in Melbourne or about to go on a vacay - you can now indulge in a new brunch spot motivated entirely by the Duchess of Cambridge.
Aptly named 'Middletown', the stylish café features a chic aesthetic of royal navy and white walls, minimalistic marble-top tables, and terrazzo tiles that were all stimulated by Kate's royal blue sapphire ring and her blue engagement dress that was seen in photographs all over the world.
There are also illustrations of the famous sapphire ring on the walls along with a trench coat - a staple piece in the Princess' wardrobe. But tastefully, the café sheds a subtle hint of the Royal without giving away any over-the-top Kate vibes. Randy Dhamanhuri, the owner of Middletown, told People: "It's a subtle hint to show that Kate 'lives' here, without putting her portrait."
"When we think of Kate, the colour blue or navy always comes to mind," he continued. "We decided to use royal navy as the dominant colour for the wall."
As for the food, the menu includes all-day breakfast as well as a lunch option with an emphasis on fresh seasonal produce presented to the customer in a "sophisticated" dining experience. Some of the standouts offered include chia seed pudding with watermelon sorbet, avocado on polenta and sweet potato croquette, coffee waffles and grilled broccolini with poached egg, compressed pears and grilled baguette.
Even the café's website dons the same blue and white aesthetic, topped off with a nifty sapphire diamond mouse clicker. We think the Royals would be rather impressed with this one.
Middletown Cafe is located at 229 High Street Prahran, Melbourne.
