In an era where the words ‘dairy free, gluten free and vegan' are ubiquitous, you can almost feel the collective eye-rolls when a new venue leads with these words.

But for the sweet-toothed among us, it's hard to pass up on an icecreamery that promises all natural ingredients without compromising on flavour (read: yumminess without the calories).

Cheekily named ‘The Blob', this Zetland opening is a labour of love for Stanley Anjaya and Alicia Soebawa, who wanted to provide a quality, wholesome and healthy alternative to other brands.

Expect some pretty wild flavour combos, from a Blob Marley (Dutch chocolate and roasted peanut blob in a golden chia cone, topped with pistachios, matcha quinoa puffs and freeze dried mandarin) to a Lychee Dream (lychee, rosewater, beetroot blob in a handmade fuschia cone with coconut snow) and Heart Beet (lychee, beetroot and rosewater).

Owners Anjaya and Soebawa not only have a pretty rad palate for icecream, but concern for the environment to boot, with a focus on minimising plastics and environmentally friendly materials. Icecream that's better for your waistline and your conscience? Blobby brilliant.

While The Blob team searches for a more permanent home, their pop-up store can be found in East Village Shopping Centre in Zetland.
