Carb loading alert: Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is bringing six delectable courses of pasta to the table for one night only

Icebergs might be one of the most 'grammed restaurants in Sydney, but that doesn't mean it should be overlooked for its culinary prowess. Sure, the Eastern Suburbs institution wields a lot of touristy vibes (mostly from the people that stand outside stealing shots of the iconic pool), but that doesn't mean it's not worth a visit for its food, especially during Bondi's famous low season. As if to pre-empt the blissful emptying out of Bondi during winter, Icebergs' Maurice Terzini and head chef Monty Koludrovic have created Assaggini di Pasta, which literally translates to 'pasta tastings'.

Coupled with a selection of matched natural wines, the six-course tasting menu is designed to take you on a culinary journey through Italy's food regions. "Pasta is one of a few true icons of Italian cooking and cultural sensibility," says Koludrovic. "Join us as we explore this historical love affair."

With Italian dishes like Pasta Fredda (Fregola, chilled shellfish, sorrel & caviar), Spaghetti Aglio Olio (spaghetti no.7, spanner crab, garlic, chilli, parsley, lemon), or house made Gnocchi alla Bolognese made with David Blackmore Wagyu Tail on the menu, we suggest skipping lunch beforehand so you can gorge on as much pasta as you can.

Assaggini di Pasta will take place at Icebergs Dining Room and Bar on Thursday, June 29. The set menu starts at $130pp for food, with matching wines for an additional $70. Booking are available from 6pm via idrb.com.

Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is located at 1 Notts Avenue, Bondi Beach.
