Celebrity chef Matt Moran is doing things a little differently for Vivid Sydney this year, transforming his recently unveiled The Meat & Cheese Room into a retro picnic area - complete with astroturf and a light-projected ceiling 'sky' - and converting the Opera Bar Café into a 90s-style arcade, with Pacman, Space Invaders and Street Fighter.

He's rewritten The Meat & Cheese Room menu to offer perfectly packaged picnic boxes, laden with delicacies such as Blackmore wagyu bresaola, housemade pickles, Ashgrove traditional cloth-matured cheddar and Woodside lemon myrtle chevre. Keen to keep moving? The picnic plates are also available as takeaway for $28 (charcuterie) and $26 (cheese), including two bottles of water.
