City slickers, suits and undergrads will have to put off their Spring detox kale-only diet plans for a little longer thanks to pedigreed dumpling house Din Tai Fung. With two locations about to open/already open, one in Broadway and another in the Gateway at Circulay Quay, accessing the bamboo baskets of dough bag pork bun goodness is now dangerously easy.
Resisting a steaming mouth-watering doughy filled parcel of deliciousness is really too much to ask especially when it's been made by one of the highly-trained chefs at dumpling empire Din Tai Fung. They serve up over 6000 hand made dumplings, yes you read that right, 6k of the steamed goodies every week in their Australian eateries so their dumpling-making skills are pretty epic to say the least. With all their signature crowd-favourites such as xiao long bao (pork dumplings), shao mai (shrimp and pork dumplings), and classic crispy fried chicken on the menu it's probably a good idea to pencil in your detox for next month...
