Melbourne's Windsor has a new place to get your groove on - and it comes courtesy of the same guys who brought you the High Street drinking and dining mecca Neptune (that would be Nicolas Coulter, Simon Blacher and brothers Dave and Michael Parker). Located conveniently right above Neptune, Impala has been styled with '70s-disco specialties like a mirrored disco ball and gold leaf tropical print wallpaper - so kitsch, it's cool. Of course, the bar has a disco-flavoured playlist to match, plus an impressive cocktail menu filled with classics old and new.

If you're a whisky aficionado, you're in luck: Impala houses a gold-lit whisky cabinet on a wall next to the bar and its own exclusive whisky and boutique spirit club, Club Impala (sign up here). Bringing a sense of fun to Windsor's High Street, did we mention the '70s theme even extends to the bar snacks- where you can find relics like the prawn cocktail. (It's the details that count.)

"It was always the plan to launch upstairs following Neptune, giving locals a late-night spot to unwind in a vibe that's fun and relaxed," explains co-owner Nicolas Coulter (the guy who brought you Hanoi Hannah, Tokyo Tina and Saigon Sally). "The Chapel Street precinct has been crying out for a venue that's tastefully fun. Impala is all about good booze and tunes in a welcoming, yet refined setting."
